Henry Rowe to board of managementRoyal Haskoning appointed Henry Rowe to the board of management with effect from 11th January 2008.
Mr Rowe (55), a chartered civil engineer, has been promoted to the role from Director of Maritime and Coastal & Rivers and joins Board of Management directors Jan Bout and Leo Visser as a Director of Koninklijke Haskoning Groep B.V. In the last five years Dutch based independent engineering and environmental consultancy Royal Haskoning has achieved impressive results with turnover increasing from €170 million to over €300 million. Simultaneously the number of employees has increased to 3,600. This has been achieved by autonomous growth and acquisitions in both our domestic and international markets. Based in the UK, Mr Rowe has been instrumental in the company’s growth having uniquely positioned Royal Haskoning as a total service provider in these sectors, delivering a wide range of traditional and innovative services. Mr Rowe joined the company, originally known as Posford, Pavry & Partners, in 1980, as a senior engineer. He specialised in the planning and design of ports and waterways, covering port master planning, port operations and cargo handling. In 1996 Haskoning Nederland BV acquired the company and with the formation of Royal Haskoning in 2001 Mr Rowe was appointed Director of Maritime and subsequently also of the Coastal & Rivers Division. Commenting on his appointment Rowe said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed to the Board of Management. Royal Haskoning has a great reputation for delivering innovative solutions to sensitive issues and I look forward to being an intrinsic part of the continuing success and growth of the company’.
